What is psychological assessment services?

Psychological assessment services refer to the use of various methods, techniques, and instruments to measure and evaluate different aspects of a person's psychological functioning. They are used to obtain information relevant to answering specific questions about the psychological functioning of a person, couple, or group.

Psychological assessments are used to gather information about a person's cognitive abilities, emotional functioning, personality traits, behavioral patterns, and mental illnesses. They are often used in clinical settings to diagnose and treat mental disorders, but they are also used in educational or vocational settings to assess a person's strengths and weaknesses and to assist in treatment or educational planning.

Areas of Assessment

At Integrative Clinical Psychology, we currently offer 2 key educational assessment packages to cater to the needs of our clients in their school or academic setting. However we can also provide further assessment options depending on your presentation. Please speak with our intake team to discuss further.

Cognitive Assessments - starting from $1,495

Cognitive assessments can be used to explore a person’s general thinking and reasoning ability (also known as intellectual functioning or IQ). This looks at an individual’s overall intelligence, memory and executive functioning, adaptive functioning, and learning capabilities. ICPsych offers cognitive assessments for children and adolescents (aged 6 – 16yr) for the purposes of diagnosing Intellectual Disabilities, as well as to determine a child’s cognitive profile (areas of strength and difficulty in their thinking skills).

Learning Disorder Assessments - starting from $1,795

A learning assessment assists in exploring a person’s academic/learning ability, usually using a cognitive assessment and an achievement test. This process can help to identify an individual’s academic strengths/weaknesses, as well as diagnose a Specific Learning Disorder, such as Dyslexia (impairment in reading), Dysgraphia (impairment in written expression), and/or Dyscalculia (impairment in mathematics). ICPsych offers learning assessments for children and adolescents (Aged 6-16yo). Results of this assessment process can also help us to provide you with strategies and recommendations to meet your child’s overall learning needs.

Neurodiversity Affirming Autism and ADHD Assessments -

 starting from $1,495

Here at ICPsych, we see neurodivergence (e.g., Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Intellectual Disability) as differences in human development, rather than disorders/conditions that need to be fixed. Our goal is to provide a safe space for our clients to learn more about themselves and the way they see the world.

We provide comprehensive assessments for individuals (both children and adults) who are wondering if they may be Autistic and/or an ADHDer. We use a range of neurodiversity-affirming assessment tools, engage in ongoing professional development, and aim to provide a warm, genuine approach to the assessment process. We can also provide differential diagnoses where appropriate, including complex trauma, other neurodevelopmental differences, and other mental health conditions.

If you think you or your child may benefit from an Autism and/or ADHD assessment, we provide a no-obligation free 15min phone consult to discuss your needs and any questions you may have about what to expect during the assessment process.
